Terms of Use
Google Pay is a way for you to make purchases from merchants or in-app using a phone, watch or other kind of device storing virtual representations of your credit card. In order to use Google Pay, you have to register a credit card to your device through the Google Wallet.
Our Vanquis Credit Card Agreement applies to your use of your card for Google Pay. This document acts as a user guide. If there is any conflict between these Terms of Use and the Credit Card Agreement, the Credit Card Agreement applies.
Use of Google Pay
The Google Pay service is made available by Google on compatible Android devices. Please follow any instructions provided by Google on how to register or remove your card. You will need to accept these Terms of Use and Google’s terms and conditions (and their privacy policy) before you can use Google Pay.
We are not responsible to you for any failure or delay in the Google Pay service unless this is as a result of something we have done.
Making Payments
You can make a payment from your Vanquis credit card using Google Pay in-stores, online, or via in-app at any time, subject to the relevant merchant having supporting technology. To make a payment using Google Pay you can either:
- use an e-wallet security procedure (such as fingerprint or facial recognition) to release card details; or
- present the card details (by holding your device near a point of sale terminal) and completing any security details requested.
Any payment you make will be deducted from your account in the same way as it would if you made a normal card payment. You can't stop a payment made once you've authorised it using Google Pay.
Any unauthorised or fraudulent transactions using Google Pay will be dealt with in the same way as unauthorised or fraudulent credit card transactions are dealt with under the Credit Card Agreement.
Replacing your Vanquis credit card or device
If we replace your Vanquis credit card, we will link your new card to the Google Wallet automatically.
If you delete your card from your device you'll still be able to use your physical card to make payments. If you subsequently wish to use Google Pay on any device you'll need to re-register your card. If you replace your device, you will need to re-register your Vanquis credit card on the new device.
